Follow Your Heart to Success

As a music industry veteran, Mollin gave advice to students while answering questions during the two-hour session. He offered important insight to students looking to turn their passion into a career. “You have to follow your heart,” he said. “You can’t just knock on a door and establish yourself as an artist, engineer, or producer. You have to evolve into it.”
Mollin also discussed the importance of taking advantage of every opportunity, even if it seems small at first. “You have to start somewhere. If you feel you are better than the position given to you, it could be your chance to stand out.”
Some of Fred Mollin’s work while at Disney includes four best-selling lullaby albums, and songs on the soundtracks for Lilo and Stitch Island Favorites, Finding Nemo, and Cars.
As an international award-winning film and television composer, artists such as Eric Clapton and Cher have recorded his songs. Mollin’s work has also been featured in numerous films, such as Friday the 13th and on television shows like Hard Copy, The Outer Limits, and Beverly Hills 90210. He also composed the underscore for the VH-1 movie Daydream Believers (The Monkees’ Story), and served as the project’s musical director.
