Ritch Esra Speaks with Los Angeles Recording School Students
Ritch Esra, the former Director of West Coast A&R for Arista Records, recently spoke with students at The Los Angeles Recording School about his life working in music business.
During the open forum at The Los Angeles Recording School, Esra went into detail about his experiences during his more than 20 years in the music industry.
Ezra began his career as a promotion coordinator for A&M Records and then went on to work at Arista. During his time there he signed deals with artists such as Mara Getz and The Thompson Twins. He also worked with Barry Manilow, Whitney Houston, Air Supply, and Aretha Franklin, as well as coordinating music for soundtracks including the hit Ghostbusters.
In 1992, Esra formed the Music Business Registry, a company that specializes in accurate, up-to-the-minute industry information.
