Recent Guest Speakers at LARS

The Los Angeles Recording School continues to serve as site to a number of guest speakers and industry events. Some of the recent happenings have included:

Harrison Deutsch
Video Game Dialogue Editor Harrison Deutsch spoke to LARS students about his experience in editing over 50 leading video game titles including, Star Wars (several editions), Halo 3 and The Simpsons.

Ryan Hewitt
Engineer/Producer/Mixer Ryan Hewitt talked to LARS students about how he started as an assistant to eventually become one of the best engineers and producers in the business. Hewitt has worked worked with the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blink 182 and Tom Petty.

Pablo Munguia
Emmy-winning Engineer/Mixer Pablo Munguia visited LARS students to talk about how he became a successful recording engineer. Munguia has worked with Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Usher, Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Celine Dion and many more.

Tom Sturges
Accomplished music industry executive, Tom Sturges joined LARS students to speak about his career as Executive Vice President, Head of Creative at Universal Music Publishing Group. Tom’s signings include, Foo Fighters, 3 Doors Down, 50 Cent, Blink 182, and Jack Johnson.

Art of the Music Deal Conference
The National Association of Recording Industry Professionals hosted and “Art of the Music Deal” conference on the LARS campus which students were invited to attend.
