Hampton, who wrote So, You’re an Audio Engineer. Well, Here’s the Other Stuff You Need to Know, talked to students about what it takes to make money as an audio professional. “When you graduate, you will be worth something for your craft,” he added. “There are many audio jobs out there; you just have to be confident and find out what you’re worth.”
Glover, who is also known as Khaliq-O-vision, has over 25 years of experience as an engineer, producer and songwriter. He has worked with many chart-topping artists, including, Prince, John Mayer, Santana, Stevie Wonder, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Smokey Robinson, Kenny Rodgers and Quincy Jones’ “We Are the World.”
Hampton has worked in the music business for over 20 years, designing and building studios, engineering sessions and live shows, as well as consulting clients like Herbie Hancock, Babyface, Prince and Marcus Miller.
In 2002, Glover and Hampton received a Grammy Award for the legendary Bassist/Producer Marcus Miller’s M2 album.
“What I love about our industry is that we are constantly learning,” Glover said. “Nobody knows it all, so you can always learn something from others and from experience.”
